My father, Ernest, was a lover of fine wine, European cars, Scotch whiskey, beaches, blue cheese and books. Much like his daughter.
RIP Dad.
Aspiring children's author who loves blue cheese, people, wine and animals. Not necessarily in that order...

ReplyDeleteMy work as a blood courier has kept me mostly on the roads this holiday so I am just reading of this tragedy. No words can heal your wound right now. I lost my mother at Christmas and know the jarring contrast of the season with the pain. My heart is with you as are my prayers, Roland
ReplyDeleteTerry and Roland - Thank you for your kind words. It means a lot.
ReplyDeleteWrite memories down, and be as sad as you want. That's what I do. I read the memories later, and let it all out.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your loss, Wendy dearest :( You are a third blogger to lose a parent this month, very sad. Maybe there's a symbolism in the day he left you..

ReplyDeleteOh Wendy! :'( I'm so, so, sorry! You poor thing. Email me if you need a friend to talk to (((biggest hug ever)))
ReplyDeleteHugs and condolences to you. Just talk talk and talk. I am all ears. If I sound overwhelming, I am not. I am sixty two and I remember when I lost my father, I was talking to the crows that came to get the scrap of bread from our back yard, I was talking to the guava tree that my father had planted and talking to the book shelves he had made. So, let out, let it all out.
ReplyDeleteKurt and Munir - Much appreciated. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry, Wendy! (HUG) I'm just an email away if you need to chat. You and your family will be in my prayers.

ReplyDeleteWendy,
ReplyDeleteMy sympathies over the loss of your father are extended across the ocean to you and your family. The loss of a loved family member brings back fond memories of the time both of you spent together. I believe that your cherished ones are still with you after passing and nudge you from time to time to reach your goals in life.
Thank you, David. And I do hope I get a nudge from time to time. It's a comforting way of looking at a bad situation.
