A little Bit of Sunshine ...

Not only am I simply the worlds worst blogger, but it appears as the years gallop by at a rapid rate of knots, I have the worlds worst memory also. Hence, I am only now acknowledging three awards bestowed to me by my dear friend, Gary at Klahanie some time ago. Plus an additional award I received this morning from The Manic Chef. Many thanks to you both.

Thank you, Gary!

The Sunshine Award I relinquish into the soft hands of two bloggers who always inject a little sunshine into an otherwise cloudy day. Jemi Fraser at Just Jemi an aspiring writer of romantic mysteries and YA Steampunk.
Old Kitty at Ten Lives and Second Chances whose interests include, baking, writing stories, gardening, shopping and virtual nosy-ing. Her words, not mine.

Thanks, The Manic Chef and Gary!
The Friendly Blogger Award I present to a fellow kiwi, Niki at Wool'n'Nuts who lives on a little farm with lots of furry and feathery friends and funny woollie things called sheep. Niki also writes and has sold three short stories.
Roland D. Yeomans Writing In The Crosshairs. Dreamer. Author of, The Legend of Victor Standish, now on kindle at Amazon -  among others. Believer in the worth of each soul he meets. It is not so bad a thing to have been born with the gift of laughter and the knowledge that the world is mad.
Michael at Fifty Book Quest A writer and new husband who likes eating sushi, watching the Bruins, drinking white wine of questionable vintage, and thinking. Occasionally thinking ...

Thank you, Gary - again!

And finally, I give The Gold Framed Dog Blog Award to someone new to blogging, S.K. Renait from Taking Flight. Ex Formula One driver, Fighter Pilot and Secret Agent (à la Walter Mitty), now cured and looking to procure the services of a publisher to facilitate the production and distribution of his first literary work. S.K has also posted a short story that also serves as the first chapter in an extensive piece that explores with a blunt instrument the finer points of morality in today’s fickle society. In his words - This stunning work is complete from beginning to end though adjustments continue to be made and will do so until the work is obtained by someone with a large suitcase full of cash.
Gotta love that spirit! Give S.K. Renait a follow.

Once again, thank you Gary and The Manic Chef :)

  11. I would like to add my thanks to all the rest and also stress the point that thinking for me is very occasional. Very.

And, I'm hoping to get some white wine that is not of questionable vintage when I arrive in Marlborough... soon.

  12. Michael - Yes, thinking is very overrated. It gets my characters into all sorts of trouble. And me, for that matter.

Nice to see you here :)

  18. Hey Wendy,
I think I can take the coveted 'prize' for world's worst blogger :) You know how some folks apologise for not blogging recently? Well, I should apologise when I do a blog :)
You know it was my honour to bestow those awards upon your good self. You, dear lady, are the epitome of positive interaction within the blogging community and I very much value your friendship :)
Hearty congrats to all those wonderful people you forwarded the awards onto. Well done to them.
Take very good care Wendy and happy writing.
In kindness and friendship, your way, Gary :)

  19. Gary! Thank you so very much! And once again, I do apologize for my laziness. Have absolutely no excuse whatsoever ...

Have been meaning to email for days. Will rectify shoddy situation tomorrow, good sir :)

And one more thing - shouldn't you be in bed?? It's after 5am in the bloody morning! Haha!

  20. Gidday Wendy,
Aha, well almost five in the morning. I've been trying to catch up on commenting on blogs. I know how much bloggers wait 'anxiously' for my 'award winning' comments, or Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet star's comments :)
Talk soon Wendy and happy writing your way. I shall go to bed now...or maybe in a hour, or...:)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Gary - You must get your beauty sleep, good sir! Whatever will Penny think, Knowing you've been up all night? Haha!

    Chat tomorrow :)

  30. Just wanted to respond to a comment you left, but couldn't reply by email. Hope you don't mind me leaving it here:

    My dearest Wendy,

You are one of the kindest souls I know. I admire who YOU are. I think I remember you posting about the earthquake and being so moved by your post. Maybe the seed was planted in me even back then?

I wish you could come with me, too. Perhaps one of these years...but I suspect that you do a lot to help others right where you are. You have always seemed like that kind of person to me. So pure in your heart.

  31. Carol - Very sweet of you to say. Thank you. Disasters such as Haiti where those so vulnerable are left abandoned by their own people make me ashamed to be part of the human race. I despair of the human race at the best of times, but what's sad is that so much money was raised from all over the world - never to reach its destination. Gobbled up by bureaucrats/fats cats instead to feather their already plump warm nests.

I wish you well in your quest. I for one will be tuning in to your updates.

    Bye for now sweetpea xxx

  32. As Christmas grows nearer, it occurred to me that I have not thanks enough to my friends for simply being the rarest treasure of all -- a friend. Thanks, friend. Roland

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hey Roland, Christmas is indeed a time to reflect on those who have been 'good' and those whom have been 'bad' :) Not quite sure which category I fall into, but thanks anyway, my friend!!
